    Verdict

A competitive field goes to post with Northern Spy taken to make up for an arguably unlucky second at Kempton. The list of challengers are headed by Baylini, Fregate Island and Master Pegasus whilst course specialist Fusili can't be dismissed with her yard going so well. He didn't enjoy the run of the race behind Evident Pride last time and the form reads well enough with the winner being targeted at the Winter Derby. As it was only the third start of his career improvement can be expected and his 2lb rise shouldn't be insurmountable. Fusili was successful from a 4lb higher mark around a year ago but could come into the race in better form and Baylini appeals as a bigger danger to the selection. She has never finished out of the frame in seven starts on the all-weather and won her latest start in the style of a progressive horse. The handicapper saw fit to only hand her a 3lb rise for that win and she is feared but Northern Spy is the pick.
