Verdict

Musicanna showed enough on her Newmarket introduction to merit support here, with Kodiac, Great Exhibition and Mrs Shilling all likely contenders as well. The last mentioned is a stablemate of the selection and has also had the benefit of a run, but her form behind Cape Vincent has been devalued since by the disappointing run of the latter. However, it would be no surprise if she took a hand in proceedings, without being good enough to stop Musicanna from progressing. The daughter of Cape Cross came up against an opponent who had been taking on Group company on her debut at Newmarket and shaped really well as the race went on. The only negative today is the fact that she drops back in trip rather than being upped a furlong. Nevertheless she may have the class to prevail. Kodiac returns from a long absence, but showed enough when rather unlucky in running behind Oman Gulf at headquarters last year to keep on the right side. Great Exhibition has plenty of experience and hails from the in-form Godolphin outfit, so has to be respected as well, and with Ed Vaughan making such a sparkling start to his training career, Polish Rose should be noted on her debut. Despite plenty holding promise, it is Musicanna who is the one to be on today.
