In depth

Verdict

A competitive handicap that can be taken by Sovietta, with Ego Trip, Wood Fern and Robbie Can Can others to consider. Sovietta loves bottomless ground and this trip, and is back down 2lb below her last winning mark which was at Bath last year. She is also in decent form of late, so everything points to her. Ego Trip has won on soft ground but tends to go better on a decent surface. He too is back on a winning mark and from his shrewd yard, and market confidence would probably be significant. Wood Fern has heavy ground form to his name but is very moderate and probably doesn't have the class needed here, while Robbie Can Can handles the ground and is back on a handy mark so could go well at a price, but preference here is for Sovietta.
