Verdict

A moderate contest that should go to Straffan, who gets the vote over Turtle Magic and Tipsy Lillie. The selection opened her account at the seventh day of asking when successful in similar company at Bath last time and has solid claims of following up. Bill Turner's runners in this grade always have to respected and Turtle Magic has shown enough to suggest that she can take a hand in this lowly company. Tipsy Lillie beat a poor bunch over course and distance last time but this is not a great deal better and she rates a bigger threat than James Given's Marcela Zabala, who was well beaten in a Southwell maiden on her debut. Lane Marshal and Amalgam have given little sign of encouragement so far and are probably best watched in a race that is taken to go to Straffan.
