In depth

Verdict

My Way de Solzen can put himself spot on for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle by lowering the colours of Faasel, with Prins Willem and The Persuader making for an interesting affair. My Way de Solzen has created a very favourable impression since coming over from France, winning three of his four starts. the five-year-old has been upped in grade steadily, and after finishing a creditable fifth to Marcel in the Tolworth Hurdle, it was no surprise when he bolted up in Listed company at Exeter next time. The pleasing thing was that he turned the tables on Marcel in no uncertain fashion, and has reportedly come out of that race well. Faasel has not been extended to rattle up a hat-trick since going hurdling, but he has been well placed and will find these mainly older opponents tougher. He was a decent sort on the Flat in Ireland though and is worth following through the season, if not today. Prince Willem got going too late when just held at Newbury last time, so he should not be totally underestimated, while the likes of The Persuader, Foodbroker Founder and Dunlea Dancer all have more to do. Alan King should have another Festival fancy in My Way de Solzen after today, and he should go there with another win under his belt.
