Fourteen go to post for the 10-furlong Pacemaker Handicap, with an open betting race looking likely. The only last time out winner in the race is Cill Droichead, who scored a week ago at Lingfield on the all-weather surface. As his only other career success has also been gained on the dirt, it remains to be seen whether Eoghan O'Neill's charge can achieve the same level of form on turf. Pagan Dance, who hails from the in-form stable of Amanda Perrett, seems a better bet. This four-year-old, a son of Revoque, is still relatively unexposed having had only six lifetime starts and made a most promising reappearance at the recent Newmarket Guineas meeting. He finished a close fifth of 19 to Barolo there, over today's distance of a mile and a quarter, and is likely to improve for that seasonal debut. Of the others, the lightly-weighted and generally consistent Perfidious and Snow Leopard, who also made a satisfactory reappearance at Newmarket earlier this month, look to be the main contenders.
