Summer Serenade can improve on her debut run to open her account, with Woman In white and Anna Pallida expected to give her most to do. Luca Cumani's inmates are always worth following when they have had an outing, so hopes are high that Summer Shades can improve enough on her second at Windsor just over three weeks ago. The daughter of Green Desert is not really bred to get a mile and a quarter but was though highly enough of to be sent off as favourite when first tried over the trip so her trainer obviously has no fears in that department. Woman In White was only denied in the final strides when beaten at Goodwood and should also improve. The extra furlong will come in handy and she rates the main danger ahead of Anna Pallida who has had more chances than most here. She faded behind Protective at Haydock when tried over a mile and a half and may do better here without being good enough. Castagna showed little on her Haydock debut in soft ground last September and is best watched on her return, and it is to Summer Serenade that we turn for the likely winner.
