Verdict

Bucks can defy topweight to outstay Levitator, Mostarsil and Gallant Boy. Stamina is the key here, and Bucks bids to atone for a very narrow defeat at Carlisle two weeks ago. Dean Ivory's charge just failed to overhaul the gutsy Loves Travelling in the Cumberland Plate and although creeping up the weights, deserves to return to winning ways on the strength of that run alone. Prior to that he had battled well when scoring at both Nottingham and Newmarket and apart from a few more pounds on his back, does not have a great deal more to do here. Levitator was well held by Horner at Warwick and might need even further, and Mostarsil has it to do with the selection after finishing behind him at Carlisle. Gallant Boy came up against a very much in-form animal in A One at Windsor, and as John Manners' charge has won again since, the form looks solid. He may appreciate the step up in trip here, but we still much prefer Bucks who gets a confident vote.
