In depth

Verdict

This promises to be a competitive little contest, with DANI'S GIRL taken to land it from Profit's Reality and Moonbeam Dancer. Our selection won over course and distance last time and the manner of that success suggested today's 6lb penalty wouldn't be enough to prevent the follow-up. Granted, the mare takes a step up in class today but as a tactically-versatile sort who arrives in rude health it seems sensible to stick with her ahead of Profit's Reality. The Michael Attwater-trained gelding is 5lbs higher than when second last time and therefore looks opposable, particularly as that effort came at Southwell and the gelding is yet to win here. That said the horse is in good form and should run a solid race for backers, as should Moonbeam Dancer who is a threat to all in receipt of so much weight. David Simcock's filly won here two starts ago before taking second last time and, as she remains unexposed, looks up to taking a hand in the finish. Wicked Daze was only just behind Moonbeam Dancer last time and a 4lb pull should help the gelding close the gap, although our feeling is the form will be upheld, whilst Alsadaa cannot be discounted despite appearing to be slightly out of form when last seen in October. Only five set to line-up for this race but any one of them could win it, but Dani's Girl looked good last time and can follow up here.
