In depth

Verdict

Turnstile may go in at the first time of asking, with Neagh, Sotovik and Logistical likely to attract some support. Despite not having been seen for three months, Turnstile may well be fit enough to make a winning start over timber for Howard Johnson. The son of Linamix, bred by The Queen, was placed to win three times in all by Richard Hannon, and despite his speedy overall pedigree, displayed plenty of stamina on the Level. Now running in the familiar colours of Graham Wylie, he is sure to have been well schooled and can take this before going on to better things. Neagh shaped well on his reappearance when eventually pulled up in the race won by High day at Hexham. Ferdy Murphy, trainer of the latter, sends out Logistical here, but he very seldom raced over a mile on the Flat so his ability to last out the trip is open to question. Sotovik was unbeaten in both bumpers at Carlisle and probably needed his return there on his timber bow, so is worth a second glance, but we return to Turnstile who has the scope to do well over hurdles.
