Go Johnny, Kalmo Bay and Victor Daly are the ones to focus on here with Go Johnny set to make it two out of two for the season. Kalmo Bay won on his re-appearance at Hexham and was expected to follow up on a return to the course twelve days later. However, he was disappointing and it could be that he bounced, and was still recovering from his first run for eight months. Given three weeks to recover, he can play a leading role here. Victor Daly left some modest hurdle form behind when scoring in decisive fashion on his re-appearance. He seems to have progressed and looks a serious rival. Go Johnny makes his fencing bow here and he turned in a noteworthy performance last time on his seasonal bow, beating Caipiroska over hurdles, who has since won. Vic Dartnall is sure to have schooled him well, and the trainer had a winner on Tuesday, so Go Johnny looks likely to improve for his first run of the season and claim this competitive affair.
