Verdict

An interesting little heat with the weights headed by Mr Ben Gunn. A winning pointer, he finally got off the mark under rules when beating a modest bunch at Market Rasen. At the age of ten he can hardly be expected to improve much and looks vulnerable giving weight away all round. First time blinkers did the trick for Chevalier Bayard at Southwell, but he had previously looked exposed and has struggled off this mark in the past. A chance is taken with the unexposed Sir Toby, who has several bits and pieces of form to his name and he is taken to outclass his rivals.
