An open handicap can go to Rudinero ahead of Ardente Sauvage and Solarias Quest. The selection has winning form at the track, having landed a bumper on his racecourse debut. He shaped with plenty of promise on his reappearance run at Wincanton and with that run likely to have done him some good, he can take this contest today off a mark of 95. Ardente Sauvage won easily last time out but the opposition that day at Newton Abbott was moderate and he will need to improve to take this race, although that certainly is possible. Lescer's Lad should have come on for his recent outing and has claims, especially as any further rain will not hinder. Soliaris Quest is consistent and could easily run into a place, although he is one who may prefer the rain to stay away. He was better on the flat than April Attraction but the latter cannot be ruled out although fitness must be taken on trust after such an absence. All in all this looks competitive and narrow preference is for Rudinero.
