A tricky contest that can go to Rawdon, who sets the standard so far and can see off the challenges of The Nawab and Gala Evening. There could also be more to come from Count Kristo now that he has been given a little more time and he is one to carefully monitor in the betting. However, he was a big disappointment when he was last seen out and now has something to prove. Gala Evening was also below expectations at Lingfield earlier in the month and was well behind The Nawab on that occasion. Both now have something to prove and look opposable on balance. Admittedly, Rawdon is nothing out of the ordinary and he will never be the best money-spinner to have ever raced in the Oppenheimer colours. However, he has shaped encouragingly since he was upped in trip and the son of Singspiel just gets the vote today.
