In depth

Verdict

In the bumper, Albertas Run shades the vote ahead of Don Castille and The Otmoor Fox. Albertas Run defied his breeding to win a course and distance bumper last time and, much as bumper winners have a modest record in following up under penalties, he did the job well that day and might defy those stats. A 26,000 euros purchase and a son of Supreme Leader, Saxon Leader is respected, as is Don Castille, who hails from a yard with a good record in this sphere. Money for him would be interesting, as it would be for the Philip Hobbs-trained The Otmoor Fox, who is a half-brother to an Irish bumper winner, and he gets a very good mention, too, but, once again, the selection is Albertas Run.
