Chateau Nicol, Blue Tomato and Presto Shinko form the shortlist for this handicap and the vote is given Blue Tomato. The selection was once quite useful and he showed that he retains plenty of his old ability when a good second behind Outer Hebrides at Doncaster last time. That was his first run of the season and he should come on for that effort so with conditions to suit he looks to have a strong chance. Chateau Nicol is fairly consistent and he ran well last time over a longer trip at Chester when a close second behind Sew'N'So Character. If he gets the strong gallop that he needs then it would be no surprise to see him make the frame. Presto Shinko is from a yard in form but he disappointed at Ripon last time. He is not the most consistent but he could be capable of bouncing back today and the ground may have been against him last time which could excuse his below-par effort. Russian Symphony is a model of consistency and is another with strong place claims, but we will stick with Blue Tomato as our idea of the winner.
