Plenty are given a tick in the box but GLOBAL SPIRIT scored in pretty pleasing fashion over the Pontefract mile last week and is taken to defy his penalty. He's won here in the past, stays the extra furlong and handles forecast conditions well. Can't Stop Now only succumbed in a photo at Chester last time but he does run over a wide variety of trips and is not always the easiest to catch right. That said, he's every chance if on one of his going days. Temper Trap has continued to finisher quite close up after landing a summer hat-trick and could enjoy returning here having won at the venue three times in the past. However, the three-year-old Leap Year Lad could prove the main threat off a mark which is only increasing incrementally and he's a gelding who has retained his form creditably.
