Sir Mark Prescott's Blue Mantle showed little in three starts, all on a soft surface, as a juvenile and it was a similar story on his reappearance, so it came as something of a surprise that he won a Musselburgh handicap last time. However, it remains to be seen how much improvement there is to come as that was a moderate looking event and the three-year-old struggled to win. Santiburi Lad who was only beaten a length behind Crosby Donjohn (runs in the 3:10) at Ripon last week is a consistent performer and should be in the shake up, as should recent course winner Dispol Foxtrot.
