      Verdict

      McEldowney, Lucayan Dancer and Bollin Thomas are the three against the field, and preference is for McEldowney. Lucayan Dancer has shown good form recently on a softer surface but with the ground drying out all the time, conditions may be against him. Bollin Thomas is an interesting runner here, having won a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield on his latest start over jumps. However, his latest Flat efforts have been disappointing and he is passed over. McEldowney has winning form to his credit at Southwell last time, and was not scoring out of turn having been a good second before that. He carries a penalty here, but with the yard perhaps about to run into form, McEldowney is taken to come out on top.
