A competitive contest in which He's The Gaffer gets the nod ahead of Sha Bihan and Walcot Lad. Tony McCoy looks a very interesting booking for the selection who was still travelling well when a faller on his last start, and due to race off a 10lb higher mark in future, he could be ahead of the handicapper. Assuming that he handles the slower ground, he looks to hold very solid claims. Another with obvious claims is Alan King's Sha Bihan. He has his horses in rude health at present, and his French-bred gelding makes his chasing debut today. He should be fine on the ground as he handled it in France, however this looks like a fairly tough introduction against seasoned chasers and so for that reason he is passed over. As is Matthew Muroto who is still struggling from his hike in the weights following a win at Newton Abbot in April. Similarly Jolly Boy is now 14lbs above his highest winning mark, whilst Walcot Lad is 9lbs above his after winning in style on his penultimate start here at the track. Perhaps of more interest may be Dun An Doras who has slipped back to a winning mark, and in the knowledge that he handles the ground, he has place claims. However for the winner, we confidently return to He's The Gaffer.
