Not many of these can be given a serious chance and, in a poor race, the vote goes to Midnight Ballard who is preferred to Truman and Appetina. The selection disappointed in a handicap at Lingfield last time but holds solid claims on earlier form and, with the stable's horses generally running well, he looks worth a chance in a contest that should not take much winning. James Toller's Truman is less exposed than most but probably needs to improve to take a hand and a bigger threat is likely to come from Appetina. James Given's filly has failed to stay further in recent outings and is interesting dropping back in trip today. Tromp showed signs of ability on his Salisbury debut earlier this month and makes most appeal of the reminder who, in all honesty, are a pretty moderate looking bunch. This should not take a great deal of winning and Midnight Ballard has more solid claims than any of his rivals.
