In depth

Verdict

Pay The Pilot has joined Kim Bailey's yard for £130,000 after finishing a close second in a Punchestown bumper a year ago but the winner has been very disappointing over hurdles. HAPPY DU MESNIL was narrowly beaten in a maiden hurdle on the latter track in November and made an encouraging start for Evan Williams at Sandown where he would have gone close but for a couple of late errors. Realm Of Glory showed potential in a Chepstow bumper and wasn't suited by heavy conditions in a maiden hurdle back there last month. The remaining pair have plenty to find.
