Musical Fair is the unoriginal but obvious selection to take the finale and gets the verdict over Merlin's Dancer and Ben Lomand. The last mentioned has been a consistent performer of late but may now be in the grip of the handicapper. Merlin's Dancer may be worth another chance back on a faster surface but preference is for Musical Fair, who was good value for her success over the minimum trip at Catterick last time. The longer trip holds no fears for Jeremy Glover's filly, who looks well treated off just a 3lb higher mark than last time. Ralph Beckett's Danehill Stroller, second in his last two starts, and the Clive Cox-trained Paciano are others to consider but Musical Fair holds solid claims and gets the vote.
