In depth

Verdict

Flight of Esteem and Arcalis both have solid claims but this is expected to go to High Action, who should be well served by the step up to today's trip. The selection had become a touch frustrating, including in two starts over nine furlongs, until opening his account in a seven-furlong maiden at Brighton last time. Although beaten over this sort of distance before, the son of Theatrical seems to be on the upgrade now and, off what looks a favourable mark, he looks the one to be on. Flight Of Esteem is a consistent performer but generally finds at least one too good and may do so again here. Greta D'Argent has disappointed since winning at Pontefract three starts ago but cannot be dismissed lightly with her stable in good form, while Late Claim may do better know that he is upped in trip. A similar comment applies to Brief Goodbye but the main danger to the selection may be Arcalis, who was heavily eased once beaten last time. However, High Action representing the Sir Michael Stoute stable looks well treated for his debut in this grade and gets the vote.
