Verdict

This looks wide open but York runner-up Bogart has run 17 times over 6f and has never won. George Cinq is consistent but probably better over further. Handsome Dude is preferred to Steelriver of David Barron's pair and Related makes more appeal than stablemate Gamesome, though none of that quartet make the short-list. Spring Fling does as she performed better on faster going at Windsor while Intense Style has been thereabouts since reverting to sprint distances on Turf. SHORE STEP is still 4lb higher than when winning over course and distance in 2014 but ran some cracking races in tough sprints last year off similar marks and there was a lot to like about his comeback fourth at Ascot.
