Nickname Exit had little experience over hurdles so produced a very encouraging display on his chasing debut at Cork when headed right on the line by Toushan. Westerners Son won three times over timber and did well on his debut over fences at Thurles where a couple of novice mistakes put paid to his chances. The Pounds was a long way behind the latter over hurdles at Cork in April and comes to chasing a bit late in life so this can go to VENITIEN DE MAI. Jim Dreaper's charge, unbeaten in four races between the flags, was a frustrating type over hurdles before scrambling home at Limerick in March.
