Good Wee Girl gets the call in the claimer, with King After, River Liffey and Arabian Ana also making their way onto the list of possibles. The selection won a Leicester maiden at the end of July but was then slightly disappointing when fifth in a nursery. However, on that occasion, she looked ready for a step up in distance, which she is getting today. The downside to her chances is that she is untried on going with give in it but, having been allotted a good draw, we'll take a chance on her acting on the surface. King After could be interesting as he won on the Polytrack over five furlongs but is proven on good to soft going. He will improve for his last run, which was his first for a while, and he should also improve for the step up to seven furlongs, which he is trying for the first time. Arabian Ana came good in a Newcastle maiden last time, a big step up on his debut run, and he should improve again, as should River Liffey, who showed promise on his sole run to date, in a Newcastle maiden that is starting to work out. Of the others, Indibraun has not built on his Doncaster win in May and Shujune Al Hawaa, who cost 35,000 guineas, has so far failed to confirm early promise. Once again, then, the vote goes to Good Wee Girl.
