David Pipe won this race last year and the Nicholashayne maestro muddies the water with three runners in this season's renewal. Brook makes most appeal of the trio, having gone well when fresh, and his jockey is able to take off a valuable 3lb. Towering bids to follow up his October success though, under much more testing conditions, we prefer the claims of FINGERONTHESWITCH. Neil Mulholland's five year old has been cannily campaigned at the smaller tracks and he stayed further than this in Irish points. Scoop The Pot could be anything having only had three career starts, though the last of those was a bitter disappointment. Alzammaar and Shadarpour should be fit from recent spins on the Flat but the consistent Crazy Jack probably wouldn't be wanting to see any further rain. However, Irish raider Battling Boru won on yielding ground at Galway and chases a quickfire hat trick.
