With none of the newcomers making much appeal this may be best left to those with experience and the vote goes to Flintoff, who is preferred to Ally Shrimp and Arctic Minster. The selection showed his best form here over 1m6f last month when chasing home Sotovik and, while not disgraced at Huntingdon last week, the return to this stiff track may help Richard Guest's gelding. He gets the vote ahead of Ally Shrimp, who showed promise on his Doncaster debut and should improve for it. The Ian Williams-trained Acacia Avenue showed a similar level on his debut for new connections last time and is another to consider along with Arctic Minster, who stepped up on the form of his debut effort when second behind Harry Flashman at Ayr last time. Micky Hammond's pair Chateau Rouge and Just Scooby make most appeal among the newcomers but the vote goes to Flintoff, who is taken to open his account.
