In depth

Verdict

Zihaam is a previous course and distance winner who has been in good form over shorter trips at Beverley recently. Flood Defence has also won over track and trip but he’s not been in the best of form lately while Mutamaded ran a shocker when favourite at Musselburgh and needs faster ground. Idilico makes a quick reappearance after finishing third at Doncaster on Saturday evening but this looks an insufficient test of stamina for Robeam. Peter Chapple-Hyam is a rare visitor here so Union Spirit is worth a market check while Breguet Boy won twice over hurdles over the winter and gets cheekpieces for the first time. Seventeen O Four tries to follow up last week’s Catterick win under a penalty but this can go to FRANCISCO BAY, who was given too much to do when behind Breguet Boy at Newcastle last month. He’s often a slow-starter before staying on strongly in the closing stages so a return to a longer trip is in his favour.
