Lagosta has plenty of experience at this level and should finally come good at the expense of some uninspiring rivals, the best of whom may be newcomer Altitude Dancer. Lagosta showed nothing in five starts on the level, but has shaped much better over hurdles, showing up well on all four outings. The last of those was behind stablemate Prince Adjar at Kelso where he eventually finished a well-held third. He has been found a soft opportunity to gain due reward here, with the others to have raced so far posing no likely threat. The main danger could be Altitude Dancer, twice a winner on the Flat who seems to handle all kinds of going. He needed two miles in the summer and the suspicion is that this trip will be too short for him. Even so, in such a weak contest he must not be ruled out, and can give the selection Lagosta most to do.
