Ballista is on a long losing run which stretches back two years on Turf and he's not the force of old. He was almost three lengths behind KING CRIMSON at Wolverhampton last month and is only 3lb better off so Mick Channon's course and distance winner looks the one to beat today, despite a subsequent reverse at Newmarket. Major Pusey was in good form around this time last year, winning at Goodwood. He won’t be far away if fully wound-up and Lady Kyllar is eased in class for her reappearance, though still looks a shade high in the weights. Desert Command has won off a higher mark but recent efforts have lacked sparkle.
