Gary Moore's runners here are always worth a second look but Chocolate Boy has given little sign of encouragement and seems plenty high enough in the weights at present so preference is for Gavardlax, who gets the vote ahead of Icannshift. The selection has seen his turf rating drop 23lbs after an unsuccessful spell on the all-weather during the winter and looks worth chancing on his return to grass with the booking of Darryll Holland taking the eye. John Akehurst's Esperance has more to do than when landing a banded stakes race at Lingfield last month and of more interest may be Paul Cole's Squirtle Turtle, who is another dropping to a fair mark. Icannshift has run well in his last two starts and has to be respected along with Ulshaw, who ran well in a banded stakes race over course and distance last time. Gravardlax is well treated on his best though and is given the vote now that he returns to his favoured surface.
