Verdict

Loves Travelling lost no caste in defeat behind Classic Millennium at York last week and has to be respected off the same mark today but, at the forecast odds, we would rather look elsewhere and prefer to side with Made In Japan, who gets the vote over Coup de Chance. The last mentioned, who was formerly trained in Ireland, has been given a chance by the handicapper and may appreciate the faster surface here than on his two previous starts in this country. Persephone Heights, on the other hand, would prefer more cut in the ground and has struggled under similar conditions since winning a handicap at Newmarket in August. The consistent pair of Heneseys Leg and Ellovamul are others to consider but may be a shade high in the weights now and we prefer to take a chance with Made In Japan. Mikael Magnusson's gelding was unlucky not to land a gamble over this trip on the Polytrack at Lingfield last week when the winner got first run and has obvious claims off the same mark. Provided that he can reproduce the form back on turf, Made In Japan looks worth a bet.
