Diane's Choice, Tricky Trev and JUST JOEY are short list material in another moderate handicap and the vote goes to the last-named. The John Weymes-trained selection has slipped to a mark of 49 for this, a career low mark for the mare. She acts well at the track and she has run well with cut in the ground before now, so she might finally be capable of taking a chance offered to her by the handicapper. Diane's Choice doesn't mind a bit of juice in the ground and is another slipping in the weights. She was competitive from 2lbs higher last time at Wolverhampton and should be thereabouts again. Tricky Trev has been dropped 3lbs for being comfortably beaten into third here over 6f in June. He drops back in trip, however, and that may not be a positive. Joss Stick is unproven in these conditions, but does at least have enough speed to make his presence felt here, while Sandy Par is yet another dropping in the weights and it would be no surprise to see him show us more. Just Joey is a tentative pick in a poor race.
