Verdict

Amanda Perrett's Thirteen Tricks has shown a consistent level of form this term and deserves to win a race but it would not take a good one to beat her and a chance is taken with Countrywide Luck, who is preferred to El Chaparral. The selection showed plenty of promise on his belated debut at Newmarket last month when making headway before stumbling inside the final furlong and eventually finishing a four-length sixth of 20 in what looked a decent contest won by Hermitage Court. If the son of Inchinor improves on that effort he may be good enough to beat Thirteen Tricks. El Chaparral has shown enough to suggest that he can win races but has 11lbs to find with Amanda Perrett's horse on official BHB ratings. West End Wonder was well beaten on his debut and with neither Dash For Glory nor So Determined looking anywhere near good enough this is taken to go to Countrywide Luck.
