Gone'n'dunnett has claims on his best form but is difficult to catch right and a safer bet may be Jayanjay, who gets the vote over Stagnite. The selection has been a consistent performer this term and ran up to his mark when a close fifth behind Jonny Ebenezer at Sandown last month. A reproduction of that effort may suffice here. Mick Quinn's Byo bounced back to form when landing a claimer at Bath two weeks ago and has claims on that form but this looks tougher and a bigger threat may come from Stagnite. The four-year-old lost no caste in defeat in a better race than this at Goodwood last week and is only 5lbs higher than when scoring at Chepstow previously. He has more solid claims than Port St Charles who has had plenty of opportunities in similar company and remains too high in the weights. Roses of Spring finished in front of Stagnite at Goodwood and has to be respected on the evidence of that run, while a market move for Taboor would be of interest. Jayanjay is in good form at present though and he gets the vote to resume winning ways.
