Verdict

Gift Horse was more than capable on his day for David Nicholls but the nine-year-old was claimed out of his yard and placed with David Evans after landing an Ayr claimer in May and he has generally struggled since then so looks best watched in a race taken to go to PATAVIUM PRINCE, who gets the vote over Lady Florence. The last mentioned won well over course and distance last month but has struggled against the handicapper since off the same mark as he races off today, including here last time, so he may be booked for a place at best. Amanda Perrett's Driven is not certain to be suited by being dropped back in distance today, while John Spearing's Soul Sista has been well held in recent starts but has been given a chance by the handicapper. Jim Best's Choreography is another that has slipped to a fair mark and has to be considered but he is hard to back on recent form and preference is for Patavium Prince. Jo Crowley's gelding comes into this in good heart having won well over course in June, has done little wrong in two subsequent starts and he looks to have every chance of resuming winning ways.
