A very open handicap can go to course and distance winner Sake ahead of fellow course and distance winner Gifted Flame and handicap debutante Averti Star. The selection showed that he is in decent enough form with a fair third at Redcar on Friday and now dropped in trip to seven furlongs, he looks sure to give punters a run for their money. Regular jockey Kim Tinkler knows this horse inside out and this capable frontrunner could have his own way up front. He handles varying sorts of ground and gets the vote over Gifted Flame. A hold-up performer, David Barron's gelding hasn't been in sparkling form of late but still retains plenty of ability and with the stable in form he looks a danger. Kirkby's Treasure and Time To Regret both have a squeak on their best form but neither is reliable enough to fancy strongly. Averti Star has shown little so far but enters handicaps off a lowly mark of 60 so should be watched in the betting for support, however Sake has the form over course and distance and can further improve it today.
