In depth

Verdict

Soft ground suits for Press Express and so he gets the vote to win again at the main expense of Glorious View. This is a weak handicap and Press Express only need run up to the form of his last outing to win again today. Richard Fahey's gelding has appreciated a drop in the weights since last year and whilst he is steadily climbing up again, now he is pitched into a claimer he has plenty in hand of his rivals and gets the confident vote. Glorious View showed very little on his reappearance but should come on plenty for that effort and this is an easier race but he still looks likely for place money today. Mustang Du Gueslan returns from a monster break and his French form is difficult to weigh up; the market should help guide to his chances. Kirkhammerton is better on the all-weather whilst Square Dealer was poor over hurdles and is equally poor on the flat. A rubbish race to instantly forget but punters can get stuck in to Press Express.
