Unless Crozon is anything special, Petrosa should make experience count against John Gosden's newcomer and also Nuzzle. Petrosa, owned by Michael Tabor, does still not look the finished article despite having had five outings already. One of those was in Listed company at Ascot where not surprisingly, the daughter of Grand Lodge was outclassed. Since then she has had two perfect opportunities to open her account, at Newbury and Salisbury, but has failed to take either of them. One or two pundits have questioned her temperament, but we believe that she is just taking time to get the hang of things, and she should be ready by now to prove us right. The unknown factor is how good Crozon is. The daughter of Peintre Celebre holds no fancy entries at this stage but the fact that Frankie Dettori is in the plate for her debut speaks for itself. She could be anything, but we will stick with Petrosa to come good, with Nuzzle still a maiden after 15 starts and likely to remain so after this.
