Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer FREE TO DREAM produced a cracking effort when beaten just a length by Audrelle's Lad over this C&D and though subsequently beaten at Galway he faces lower class opposition and can gain his first success under Rules. Strange Talk has also scored between the flags but disappointed over timber since a good run at Leopardstown in December. Playtime Ben showed much-improved form when stepping up to 2m6f from the minimum trip at Kilbeggan on Saturday finishing a close third to Captain Luke. He should definitely get competitive if in the same kind of form but Deauville Flat winner Monterrey has yet to make his mark over hurdles.
