In depth

Verdict

TEENAGE IDOL is a confident pick with Comhla Ri Coig and Brackenmoss the obvious dangers. Howard Johnson's yard continue in good heart and the presence of Teenage Idol appears to have scared off most of the meaningful opposition. Rated 130 and a convincing winner on soft going at Wetherby, he very much ticks all the right boxes in this contest. Comhla Ri Coig landed some hefty bets at Haydock last month. He will certainly test our selection though the BHA assessor rates him some 11lb inferior. Brackenmoss has had plenty of chances but James Reveley's 10lb claim will prove invaluable. She is likely to race prominently again. Fishing Instructor was somewhat disappointing on seasonal reappearance and now has a bit to prove. Isla Pearl Fisher showed glimpses of ability on soft going in bumpers and appears the pick of the Lucinda Russell contingent. Shahramore has offered little so far though off 10 stones, the mare is in receipt of all the allowances this afternoon. Teenage Idol is the call.
