A tight betting heat despite the smallish turn out and marginal preference goes to Arfinnit ahead of Scotch N' Dry while Miss Mytton and Graceful Air are others to consider. The selection remains a maiden but put up his best effort to date when finishing a close fifth in a minor event at Ascot last week, a place and a short head behind stable companion Scotch N' Dry. Mick Channon's pair meet on identical terms but Arfinnit was hampered in the closing stages and looked a shade unlucky not to have finished even closer so is given a chance to atone under Chris Catlin. Miss Mytton was understandably outclassed in the Queen Mary but has run two good races since in useful company to suggest she can go close off a fair mark. Graceful Air stepped up on previous efforts when narrowly denied over this trip at Pontefract last time and can't be discounted, along with the lightly weighted Platinum Chief, but the percentage call is to stick with Arfinnit to open his account.
