Verdict

Not a race that will take a lot of winning in all probability and the vote goes to Nahane while Appetina and Danzig River look the main dangers. Sir Michael Stoute's charge made a pleasing debut in an above average Newmarket maiden over this trip late last month, making eye catching headway in the closing stages before lack of experience told at the finish. With the outing under his belt, this well bred son of Rainbow Quest should prove much sharper on this occasion and can make the long journey up from Newmarket worthwhile. Appetina showed plenty of ability on her debut at Redcar in May and should appreciate the step up in trip so rates a threat while Danzig River was noticeably green on his Sandown debut and should show significant improvement with his yard now in good form. Mark Johnston also has his team in excellent order at present so Carte Sauvage also enters calculations after a fair effort at Warwick recently but may have to settle for minor honours behind the potentially useful Nahane.
