Verdict

BENRISH is our pick with Lord Raglan and Trinder on the short list. Bryan Smart's charge ran a little green on debut but shaped as if the experience would not be lost upon him. His mother was a useful juvenile when trained in Ireland and the breeding suggests that good or softer would be ideal. Lord Raglan was comfortably held on debut. Although it was a plating contest, the front two had exhibited form in much better grade. Richard Fahey has had three juvenile winners from five starters so whilst Trinder may appear exposed, he cannot be dismissed. Sydney Bridge misbehaved in the preliminaries at Carlisle and may be better than the bare form suggests. Yenabay was easy to back at Hamilton and plugged on as if this six would suit. Yeah looks devoid of ability. Benrish is our bet.
