In depth

Verdict

A fascinating Listed race with reputations on the line all round. Likely favourite is John Dunlop's Big Bad Bob who was impressive when winning at Chester recently. He showed his liking for a fast surface that day beating some useful types - though the second has let the form down since. The TEAMtalk selection is the once raced Adekshan who showed good form when winning his maiden at Yarmouth and holds a couple of Group entries in the near future. Related to the smart Adilabad he will appreciate this step up in trip. Choir Master is highly exposed for a John Gosden juvenile and although has shown form on a firm surface is passed over here. The dark horse here could be Rainwashed Gold who has proved he stays the trip and will be suited by this track. He has improved all season and should take a hand in the finish. The lightly-raced St Andrews is an interesting contender - he showed some guile to win a slowly run race at Newmarket 18 days ago but being by Celtic Swing he may find the ground too firm.
