AFC South is Neil Reynolds' favourite division

After Denver's hard-fought win in the Super Bowl 50 rematch on Thursday night, the majority of the NFL begin their season on Sunday. Each team will have hopes of replicating the Broncos' 2015 success and making it to the Super Bowl in February.

Sky Sports NFL expert Neil Reynolds believes there is one division in particular that will be the one to watch as the season goes on.

"I'm fascinated to see how the AFC South unfolds," said Reynolds. "When you talk about the NFL, you've got to have a quarterback. Jacksonville Jaguars have Blake Bortles, who i think is ready to move up to the 'top table' of quarterbacks.

"Andrew Luck is coming back (for the Colts), and I like Marcus Mariota in Tennessee. Then the Texans already have the defense in place and they go out and get Brock Osweiler. This AFC South is the one to watch."

In recent years, the AFC South has been dominated by the Indianapolis Colts, with the other three franchises struggling to compete in the division, let alone the conference.

However, 2015 saw a three-way battle for the division, with the Texans finishing the season 9-7 to qualify for the playoffs. Reynolds believes that all four sides have improved - and the time has come for the South to represent.

"That's how it goes in the NFL," he added. "The AFC South used to be a joke. But often the joke division then becomes the strongest. It's going to be interesting to follow.

"The Colts managed an 8-8 season without Andrew Luck fully fit last season. Once they get him back, I still see them winning that division."
