The Buffalo Bills have released tight end Charles Clay in order to give the franchise $4.5m in salary cap savings.
The 30-year-old was entering the final year of his five-year contract that he signed in 2015 after joining from the Miami Dolphins.
In his each of his first three seasons in Buffalo, Clay managed at least 500 yards receiving and averaged three touchdowns a year, but his productivity declined dramatically in 2018.
Last season, he registered a career-low 184 yards receiving, without a single touchdown, as the Bills finished 6-10.
The move leaves Jason Croom as the only tight end under contract on Buffalo's roster for the 2019 campaign.
