New England Patriots will do everything to entice Tom Brady to sign a new deal with the franchise, says owner Robert Kraft.
Brady indicated his desire to play until he is 45 earlier this week but is contracted for just one more year - the forthcoming 2019 season - at the Patriots.
The 41-year-old, into his ninth career Super Bowl appearance, will become the only player in NFL history to earn six Super Bowl rings if they defeat the Los Angeles Rams in Atlanta on Sunday, live on Sky Sports.
"The last three years our team has gone to the Super Bowl under his leadership," Kraft exclusively told Sky Sports.
"We have gone four of the last five years and people speak about his age. We would be kind of silly not to do everything we can to keep it going and we will."
Head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Brady as a partnership will be involved in their ninth Super Bowl and Kraft, who is into his 10th year as owner, believes fate could help bring his side success - his first Super Bowl win came against the Rams on February 3, 2002.
"They were the 'Greatest Show on Turf' - they had won the Super Bowl the year before," he said.
"Of course in the 01 season after 9.11 I think in a way our team called the Patriots represented the country in many ways in how we felt afterwards.
"We weren't the best team in terms of skill set but we were the best team in terms of coming together. I think we came together just like the country did after 9.11.
"It was with great pride that I said we are all patriots and tonight the Patriots are World Champions. It would be great if on Sunday, February 3, around 9.30-10pm, I had the chance to say that for a sixth time."
The Patriots missed out on hosting one of the NFL International Series games in 2019 but Kraft, whose side last played in England at Wembley in 2012 as a visiting side, wants to have them come to the UK within the next two years.
"I tried to get us to go this year," Kraft said. "The home team has to give up a game and no one wants to give us up in their domestic market but we are going to lobby hard and I hope in the next year or two we will back."
